All I can say is wow wow wow!! I actually think you have the best starters around!!

From the olives, to the flat bread to the sensational antipasto. I would have to give all 3 starters 10/10.

The star of the mains had to be the Quattro Stagioni! 4 wonderful pizza’s in one, great for sharing and an authentic taste of Italy!!

If you really want to taste heaven on a plate then get the affogato for dessert!!

I had never been to Strada before, but I am now completely sold!!

A great atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, wonderful fresh tasting food, all in all an unforgettable experience!

We really enjoyed our dining experience at Strada in Highgate, the staff were extremely attentive especially the manager who talked through the menu and explained the content of the different dishes in detail. The decor of Strada is bright and welcoming and you forget that you are in a “chain” restaurant.

Our first tasting experience were the olives and I have to say they were some of the best olives that I have tasted. They didnt look great, rather like small green apples but the taste more than made up for this. We were all thoroughly impressed with the antipasto, the meats and bread were lovely and didnt last too long! Next came the pasta dishes, we all loved the risotto so much so in fact that were comments from some that it was the nicest risotto they had ever tasted. My 8 year old niece was the pizza sampler and again that got the thumbs up. By this stage we were all getting rather full but were determined to enjoy the mains. We all agreed that the pork dish didnt work as it would have been better to have chicken or veal perhaps as we felt pork on pork didnt work. The fish however more than made up for this, light and perfectly presented, the potatoes and salad were the perfect accompaniment to the dish. Although full to the brim we still all ordered desserts and although nice we all felt they were perhaps trying to hard and that keeping it simpler would have been better.

Overall I thoroughly recommend a night out at Strada, its warm, welcoming with good food and great staff.

Without a doubt, tasting the new Strada menu was one of the best dining experiences my boyfriend and I have ever had (and as quite the foodie, I still can’t believe I’m able to write that sentence about a national chain restaurant).

We chose the charming Strada in Highgate as the venue for our second anniversary dinner and could not have wanted for anything more! Every single dish was spectacular, so I’ll try to only pick out a few highlights:
The quality of the ingredients was allowed to shine through in every single dish; I especially loved the parma ham in the Antipasto and my boyfriend – who couldn’t get enough of the melt-in-the-mouth buffalo mozzarella and the olive tapenade – also agreed that one of the Antipasto dishes would make the perfect lunch. Although a word of warning: once you’ve tasted it, you probably won’t want to share it!

The strozzapretti definitely deserves a mention too; it is truly like eating pasta for the first time. Whoever developed the dish has a true genius for texture! Try it for the delicious Luganica sausage, if nothing else.

As for the meat courses, although the saltimbocca was packed with mouth-watering salty, smoky flavours accompanied with a hugely luxurious and rich butter sauce, it was the orata al forno that really swept me away. Strada know how to cook their seafood to perfection! Simple yet stunning.

As for the desserts, we have argued and argued but my boyfriend and I cannot decide on a favourite ... The amount of flavour in the gelato is unbelievable; the texture of the affogato will make you wish you’d ordered five; the bunet piemontese is a ridiculously indulgent guilty pleasure!

An unashamed 10/10 for Strada’s new menu then, and thank you very much for allowing us to be one of the first people to have the pleasure of tasting it!

A gargantuan tasting menu awaited us on a quiet sunday evening at this local Highgate favourite.

Service, which was fast and helpful, kicked off with a generous helping of hand stretched flat breads and some juicy Sicilian olives.

A veritable slate plank piled high with salamis and cheeses and a very good tapenade followed.

A wonderful collection of well presented entrees which included four seasons pizza, Pugliese pasta with moreish chilli butter , pumpkin and pancetta risotto, a tender pork fillet and a terrific sea bream and sea bass arrived too in a timely manner

My son commented that it was the best fish he’d ever tasted!

Desert was sublime and special mention must be given to the Bunet Piemontese soaked with amaretto.

The 33 dishes, 11 for each diner and each one generous in proportion, proved too much for us all in the end.

It was not the time for competitive eating and Man v. Food got there first anyway.

Leftovers were packed neatly way into takeaway boxes and bags for us to leave with.

To conclude this place is hard to beat as far as value is concerned and is a trustworthy and informal setting with dependable Italian food on offer.
