Championing the Mediterranean diet

Lots of fresh fruit, vegetables, olive oil, seafood, poultry, a bit of dairy and maybe the occasional glass of wine...'s the way Italians have eaten for generations. Combined with a physically active lifestyle, lots of social interaction and a deep appreciation of food, it's considered one of the healthiest diets on the planet and will help to keep you fit, as well as reducing the risk of ill health. In other words, it's the perfect diet for an active and sporty lifestyle.

In recognition of this fantastic summer of sport, we've teamed up with the Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico and the Italian Trade Commission to bring you lots of information and tips about the Mediterranean diet, some fantastic specials for you to enjoy on your next Strada visit and a few recipes to try at home.
